DART Lobbyist Works to Stop Texas High Speed Rail

DART, the public transit system in Dallas, supports a privately-funded  Texas high speed rail line connecting Dallas and Houston. At the same time, DART’s lobbyist Galt Graydon is in Austin working with Texans Against High-Speed Rail to kill the project. Almost as bad, DART says that’s ok.

Graydon tells the Dallas Morning News he cleared the assignment with DART before taking it on. He helped Southwest Airlines defeat Texas high speed rail in the state in the 1990s. DART could benefit from an infusion of riders in Downtown Dallas should the line be built.
